London - Edinburgh - London Audax UK

This is all about the 1400km (875 mile) cycle ride in the UK.  One of the long distance cycling association Audax UK's premier events, it's an amazing feat of endurance.  Four and a half days to complete this is all they get.

Audax UK - has loads of organised cycle rides, from 50km to 1400km.  These are incredibly popular rides covering all parts of the United Kingdom.

These rides are non-competitive, i.e. not a race, and the only goal is to complete within the fairly generous time limits.  There's both a minimum and maximum time, corresponding usually to real averages of between 12.5 and 30km/hour, which include stops.
